Aerobic exercise is an important part of recovery and rehabilitation for all patients who have experienced a stroke. Stroke survivors often have very low levels of cardiovascular fitness, leading to further physical deterioration. Frequent aerobic exercise can help with performing activities of daily living.

The Canadian Partnership for Stroke Research has developed a guide to assist patients with performing aerobic activities and integrating them into their daily routing.
