Atrial Fibrillation

Atrial fibrillation, which is irregular heart rhythm, is estimated to cause 15% of all strokes. The risk is even higher in people older than 60 years old.

Please speak with your doctor if you are experiencing irregular and fast heartbeat, a rapid thumping in your heart or any chest discomfort. It is important to diagnose and treat atrial fibrillation as soon as possible to decrease the risk of cardiac events or stroke. Some of the treatments include medications and electrophysiology study (EPS).
